In the next pages you explore the power of Artemis and why I chose her to appear one of my artworks. She can lead you towards your dreams with power and calmness as it helped me in all of my hard an beautiful moments.
About Artemis
Artemis, also the goddess of childbirth and women's protector, embarked on a journey as a huntress, distancing herself from the city life to live in seclusion with a group of nymphs in the wilderness.
Devoted to her independence, she requested from her father, Zeus, the eternal preservation of her virginity, ensuring that no man could ever approach her. Artemis truly became the mistress of her own destiny. This can be interpreted as a request to uphold autonomy and independence.
Artemis' sexuality remains solely under her control. The focus on chastity might be rooted in an ancient bear cult where sexual abstinence precedes the hunt. Artemis was both loved and feared because of her powerful personality and deeds.
